The Steel Detailer gives the user the ability to export a structural model to a SDNF (Standard Detail Neutral File) for importing into other similar packages such as Tekla Structures Xsteel and Bentley’s Prosteel.

The structural model may have been created outside of TSD and is required to be inside an assembly named to match TSD’s requirements.

A mapping process is required to transfer section names from SolidWorks Weldment names to other Packages section naming conventions .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The folder called SDNF inside The Steel Detailer folder contains the default setup for Mapping from SolidWorks to another package.

This is shown in the above Mapping File Textbox .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

● Using this function on the Menu Bar click TSDProjects as shown below, then select the  Icon.

 

              

 

● Alternately use the  button located on the Command Manager Tool Bar under TSDProjects tab as shown below.
